Valbruna has always been committed to respecting environmental guidelines, protecting health and safety of the employees, as well as to a responsible and efficient use of energy sources.
The environment is a common resource that must be respected and preserved. Valbruna operates under high environmental compatibility by recovering and recycling metals contained in end-of-life scrap products. Inside the steel plant, in fact, metals are recovered and re-used to produce new final products; it is a virtuous cycle aimed at reducing the use and consumption of new raw material of natural origin to a minimum.
It is worth highlighting water, as a common and precious good, which is continuously recycled into a closed- cycle cooling process. Moreover, advanced systems and state of the art equipment are used for the collection and treatment of gaseous emissions from the production process.
Energy management is a fundamental part of the company system, based on planning, control, and continuous improvement of energy performance. Through a structured organization, Valbruna ensures systematic control over consumption, analysis of energy data, as well as a setting of objectives and programs in terms of efficiency. The adoption of advanced technological solutions and the optimization of production processes allow to increase operation efficiency, reduce wasting, and lower the environmental impact.
In accordance with Seveso Directive, the Security Management System requires the implementation of annual improvement projects including employees’ training, prevention and maintenance plans and non- destructive tests carried out on plants or in specific plant sections, goal of workplace accidents and injuries reduction. Plant investments as well are aimed at pursuing the state-of-the-art technologies and at maintaining high safety standards.
